I went to Tyger Baptist this morning. I thought I was going to be going with Daniel and Robert, but Daniel didn't get up when I knocked on his door this morning.
So, I came back and sat in my room, felt convicted overing letting my own desires weigh out over God's desire, and had to fight apathy, but once I decided to go. . .I went. First, I went to Jon's room to see if he wanted to come with me, but he didn't want to so I was on my own.
It was very nice. ^_^ Everyone was very open and it felt alot like Beulah. I was suprised to see Brandon Nelson and he was suprised to see me, but he offered me a seat toward the front. There were probably only 50 people there, but it was intimate and spirit filled. The sermon used the image of Mary M. as she saw Jesus outside the tomb and had a few major points:
1) When you hear the voice of Jesus ( or rather, when the Lord calls you) you can't just sit idle. The idea of being called to sit in a pew every Sunday does not compute. (In a strange twist of fate, this seems to mirror my DA Journal.)
2) There are consequenses to our actions and although Christ loves us and makes us holy through him, those consequenses often follow us through our whole lives.
3)Thankfully, His grace and mercy is sufficant and is constant. He helps us in our time of need. He doesn't give us grace to simply meet our own needs, but rather, we are to meet the needs of others and do His will. He knew who we were before he made us, and he made us for his purpose and saved us for that same purpose.
4) He's still calling for us to live up to the standard he has set and will give us the strength to meet those requirements if we would humble ourselves before him.
Not to mention that afterward, they had free food. ^_^; My baptistsense must've had something to do with my going. It was good food and there was alot of it.
All in all, I enjoyed being there and I think I'll go back soon.
